I once heard that a shortened version of Mr. Shaikh's Opus Magnum is planned. Is that still the case? I am also still waiting very much on a German version. Is there any chance or anything that can be done?

A shorter version has long been in development by Professor Shaikh. He hopes to complete it in the next year or two, but shortening such a long and complex text is no easy task. When I have more information, I will update you here!
There is no German version and I have not heard if one is in progress. Translating the 1,000+ pages would be a major effort and would likely require the government or a foundation funding the work of an economist or team of economists to read and translate the text into a new language. This has been done in a few other languages, but, for it to be done in German, someone skilled enough to translate the text would need to take an interest then devote a significant amount of time to the effort. I hope this happens too!
